I've been taking Ranitidine (Zantac) for well over 40 years. Originally in 75mg doses once a day and then 10-15 years later in 150mg doses once a day. It has never failed me especially since I travelled around the world for over twenty years and ate the spiciest of foods. It was the only medication that has consistently helped me. Several times I tried ALL the other alternatives for diverse periods of fourth dimension (bet never more that three-4 months) and the acid reflux killed me. Nothing, and I mean null, worked like Ranitidine. I don't know what I will do without information technology. I will probably have to take iii-iv times as many pills (450mg to 600 mg) of any of the other medications to do what a elementary 150 mg dose did for me. I love spicy foods so this is a huge disappointment for me. The cancer scare is only a lot of BS in my humble opinion. There are hundreds, if non thousands, of products that have been proven to crusade cancer (including plainly water from cities effectually the globe), so this is most probably a lot of "ado almost nothing". I've had cancer (over 20 years agone), only non of anything related to the breadbasket, esophagus, intestines, or anything relating to what Ranitidine could have (probably) caused. I'thou not a doctor, but I know my torso relatively well (having had over 25 surgeries – more often than not relating to cleaved bones), but have been tested constantly and continuously. Thus I definitely do non believe in this Ranitidine scare, and I certainly would be back on it immediately one time it comes dorsum on the market place. Just remember most it: animate air in most cities effectually the world introduces more harmful carcinogens than swallowing thousands of Ranitidine pills. I hope the FDA gets their deed together and starts working on Real problems, and non something that is potentially only a fairy tale.

can whatever of the health ministers or product CEO of ranidine tell the public what symptoms they should be looking for? what tests they tin go there family physician to practise to prevent whatsoever serious cancer out break? the public deserves to know. thanks

Don't panic everyone. Attempt cold ice cream for those heartburn days. Anything natural first as these joke companies only care well-nigh making money.. hell, plastic water bottles give me bad heartburn. Never have a trouble with a metal or glass container with h2o. As for the meds. Endeavor Pepcid Air-conditioning with the famotidine.

I have been taking generic rx zantac 800 mg for over 3 years. It worked keen for me until about 6 months agone, now I accept an almost abiding burning in my upper stomach and a lot of acid coming in my throat. Afterward reading about everyone taking this medication in way less doses then I take, I am afraid to go to a gastrologist to see why I feel so much pain.

Consume a normal diet that is fruit, vegetables, whole grains and merely normal real food and stop eating pizza, cookies, whatever soft drink or beer, in short anything laden with sugar, hullo fructose corn syrup, all your basic reconstituted corn molecules and yous should exist fine. If you don't want to do that, then yes await heartburn, it's a pretty obvious cause and effect scenario.

I simply had a lung lobectomy due to very early detection of lung cancer.

I also took Zantac for well-nigh a twelvemonth daily. I quit smoking about ii years ago where I suspect this was the main culprit although I am now surprised to hear Zantac could have also caused the danger.

I was looking for anything indicating if or when it will be bachelor. Imperazole seems to piece of work better, but supposedly it may atomic number 82 to brittle bones, which is a concern to one-time people similar me.

I've been using zantac for quite a while. I find information technology crazy that the FDA would accept serious a whim from a Connecticut based online drug dealer to cause all this business concern.

Because it's a generic to zantac not the proper name rx make hence information technology'southward not zantac it's only ranitidine hcl same ingredient merely different formula zantac is pulling it considering it's there name brand tbh showtime calcium supplements northward vitamin d supplements they assistance merely tbh merely keep taking it if if nonetheless fine from 20 years it's a carcinogen everyday we take in carcinogens sum even legal like alcohol n tobacco just billions and millions of deaths still legal what a land

Same here. Mine just got filled yesterday.

In terms of the level of concern, information technology'south three parts per meg. Very, very small amounts," Professor Kelly said.

"We've now tested 135 different batches of this medicine, and we're finding about 75 per cent of those are positive above that level of 3 parts per meg.

"If someone were to take a ranitidine tablet for their unabridged life for lxx years, every 24-hour interval, so the hazard of cancer may go upward past about one in 100,000, and so I remember you tin can see from those figures it's a very small gamble."

Where did you become the numbers from?

I would question, is that number nevertheless the same, 70 years 1 in 100,000, for those who have been taking ranitidine long term and are immunosuppressed? Or does at that place need to be an additional written report for this group?

afterwards reading all these comments I have a very basic question–is the NDMA added to Zantac by the manufacturer ?(in which case what goes in can also come out, regardless of the legal questions that arise)–or is it some kind of naturally occurring substance ( as in the air, like mold) that cannot be avoided?
If the erstwhile, there is a solution, if the latter, y'all need to change the recipe, no?

The trouble is the actual molecule "ranitidine." The molecule itself is unstable and can interact with breadbasket conditions (and in some instances, even collaborate with itself – similar when heated to 130 degrees celsius) to form nDMA. I think zantaccancer.com published the citizens petition from valisure that has all the information.

My dr prescribed ranitidine the solar day after the recall. When I asked about it, she said she would write me a prescription so the chemist's would give me pills from an unaffected lot, as opposed to what's on the over-the-counter shelf. This puts me in their system to be notified if the one I am taking also becomes an result. I suggest you talk to a dr and meet if you become the same answer. I am now using information technology but prescription only. It is very affordable. Yous are right, it works great.

I like many others all over the world accept been taking ranitidine dollar general brand or Walmart brand for at least 15 years and for 10 of those years I have taken it daily along with prilosec because ranitidine is fast acting and prilosec is long acting merely I tin can't ever afford to take prilosec with information technology so 80% of those 10 years take been ranitidine at least 4-16 150mg tablets in 24 hours because ranitidine is only a acid reducer and then heartburn normally returns within viii hours after my first dose of vi in the morn. So yes I am struggling with what I am going to practise and what I tin afford because other than ranitidine no other medication has worked for me at all except of course prilosec. I have always been told past my medico that the ranitidine itself isn't what causes cancer merely having GERD and other stomach or esophageal problems that crusade severe heartburn and hurting along with it beingness so bad like myself that I threw up for at to the lowest degree 12 years out of the xv that I had taken ranitidine and what causes cancer is when you practise not get the proper handling for these diseases or stomach issues so years of your stomach acid constantly being thrown up into your esophagus your mouth throat and gums this is actually what causes cancer so basically if you lot can't beget insurance and you accept been denied medicaid and you go along taking medications that are but a temporary fix and not medicine that heals the problems then fact is you most likely will accept esophageal cancer or gum illness or throat cancer and damage so I gauge question really is what option will you make either be in extreme pain or take medication that is only temporarily helping not fixing the problem and either way you terminate up with cancer so why suffer when the odds are confronting you no matter which direction you turn

I have suffered with heartburn nigh all my life. I had gastric featherbed surgery in 2004 and was told my heartburn would magically cease……Not! Lol in 2016 I was rushed to the hospital, died twice on the manner and again after arrival. I was in the hospital and rehab for 61 days. I literally had to learn to walk once again as my legs only simply quit working. Long story but I was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis which is a condition where toxins in the body suddenly alluvion the kidneys and they close down. Information technology poisons the body. My dr. asked how long I had taken the loftier dose I took of ranitidine daily. Of course I had taken it 20+ years since it became available OTC. He clearly blamed this medication for what happened to me, he said information technology had a high metabolic charge per unit and the continued use at high dosages built up in the kidneys until they just only were out. Never had I heard anything about this before he told me. After I got home I saw one of those "lawsuit" ads which stated basically what my dr. told me. And then, cancer isn't the only danger with this medication, please utilize it cautiously I would'nt wish what happened to me on anyone else, even my worst enemy.

Try famotidine in identify of ranitidine

I agree with you totally because I am in your same boat, tin't go Medicaid, can't afford insurance and then what choice do we have? Only ane that has the same effect, just one has less suffering.

I take Barrets syndrome from years of acid reflux. Finally went to a Gastroenterologist who suggested aloe vera juice along with pantroprazole and two ranitadine per day. My reflux stopped immediately with the aloe vera, even before starting the other items. It's low cost and has been used for thousands of years.

As presently as I heard in that location might be a problem, I bought a 2 year supply. It should exist my option if I take it. I should be able to sign a waiver. Been on 150mg 2x per day for five years or then. Called my pharmacist when these seemingly deliberately vague articles began appearing. Chemist told me at the time (apx. six weeks ago) that merely over the counter Zanex was effected by recall. Upon refilling my RX concluding week, after another series of vaguely factual articles had been released, I asked my pharmacist if my prescription was safety. I took protonix for years. pepcid and nexium did not truly piece of work. nexium acquired a terrible aftertaste and gave me awful GAS.. zantac is the merely thing that worked after the insurance company stopped paying for protonix.. i've been taking generic zantac 75 mg three to four times a day for about ten years now… wonder if that causes problems.. (sigh)…

I don't know, I think I am going to continue to take it. I capeesh the education but, anyone that suffers similar I practice, know that there is non much relief out at that place and non everything works for each individual person. NDMA is a carcinogen and constitute in many daily things like water, dairy, meat, etc. I just will take my chances because fifty-fifty the air we breathe is dangerous. In my stance I would rather recall of information technology helping more so and so slowly killing me.

I don't know what all you have tried, only I could advise drinking higher PH water such as alkaline water. My father-in-law used to have to accept a heartburn pill after each meal. After switching to alkaline water, he seldom takes a pill. Some people merely need to change something in their diets to observe relief. A lot of people wait for a pill to treat the symptoms of a dietary insufficiency. If yous just don't intendance, go to a cancer hospital and asking someone how information technology feels to go through chemo. I say this equally a father to my toddler that has to take immunotherapy to right her continuous boxing with OMA(Opsoclonus Myoclonus Ataxia) from Neuroblastoma (cancer). We were prescribed Zantac for a month when she was a newborn. This was before discovering she was born with pyloric stenosis as the medicine just seemed to make her spit up more. I do not believe this to be the cause of her cancer, but it may have been a contributing gene, as the cancer was not in her CT browse from when she had surgery to correct the pyloric stenosis. Basically she wasn't born with the tumor. My only hope is that whoever reads this, is a little more cautious then I was virtually the chemicals they put in and on their bodies, and the body of their loved ones. It is no wonder that cancer is 1 in ii men and i in iii women, when the food, clothes, drugs, shelters, and ,as you lot mentioned, air contain harmful human fabricated chemicals. For example, for years I used to apply caput and shoulders for men, because I had a dry itchy scalp, and thought it smelled good. After my daughters pyloric stenosis surgery, we switched our lifestyle to introduce more natural products. I switched to a natural shampoo and conditioner, and the dryness and itchiness stopped the adjacent day.

I hear what you're saying and if you feel severe heartburn then it is absolutely necessary to find relief, however EACH of these pills is 400% OVER what is considered prophylactic. Unlike the levels institute in meat, h2o, etc. So, with then many other options it only doesn't make sense to proceed with this drug under these circumstances.

Famotidine (Pepcid) is a reasonable culling.

Corine Steele

October 8, 2019

Famotidine does not work the same as Ranitidine…I have already tried this.

Interesting enough…I chosen the FDA last calendar month near the Zantac. When I asked why it was still on the shelves, I was told "nosotros are notwithstanding testing it, along with other inhibitors"; when I asked what others, I was told Pepcid. Great! another doc gave me that for my severe acid reflux.
Just idea I would let someone know.

Ranitidine is the only medicine I have institute that I can have with my heart status…not sure what to practice at present? I cannot have whatsoever other over-the-counter heartburn meds I have checked them all…(Pepcid never worked for me earlier I knew anout my heart condition anyway). Ugh! Which batches are affected? If yous take some that yous purchased months ago are they ok?

Cigarettes cause Cancer yet no one removes them from shelves WHY? Because likewise many top evil people in the world would lose their precious money!
Including big pharma!

So my physician put me on Zantac a week ago…..afterwards buying to bottles I found this out. I was amazed she said that considering Im request her if its condom to take and her response was if Im Afraid? WTH? So do I take information technology or non????

Nexium is known for LOWERING your Blood Magnesium Level, which tin can kill you if it goes besides low. This is the aforementioned for Omeprazole. I was on Nexium and that is why they stopped it and put me on Ranitidine. I am struggling with trying to keep my Magnesium level up to the blank minimum of the normal range every bit it is and cannot be on any other GERD Medicines other than Ranitidine. Since hearing nigh this call back, I have tried switching to taking "Organic Apple tree Cider Vinegar with the Mother" (1 Tablespoon 1-2 times a day) and amazing enough it works for me. You may want to try this method–it's all natural. Chase vinegar with h2o or put it into a glass of water or applesauce.

It'south important to be clear in your statements regarding product recalls.

Two drug manufacturers have voluntarily withdrawn their products from the market indefinitely due to NDMA contamination. As of this writing, the FDA has NOT issued a blanket recall of all ranitidine products.

Sandoz has voluntarily recalled its 150mg and 300 mg ranitidine tablets. Apotex has voluntarily recalled its 75 mg and 150 mg ranitidine products in all delivery formats.

For those who asked, Pepcid (famotidine) and Tagamet (cimetidine) are the aforementioned class of drug as Zantac (H2 blockers). They work more slowly than ranitidine does.

—-
https://world wide web.fda.gov/safety/recalls-marketplace-withdrawals-safety-alerts/sandoz-inc-issues-voluntary-remember-ranitidine-hydrochloride-capsules-150mg-and-300mg-due-elevated

https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/apotex-corp-issues-voluntary-nationwide-think-ranitidine-tablets-75mg-and-150mg-all-pack-sizes-and

Be careful substituting Tagamet (cimetidine) for Zantac (ranitidine). Tagamet (cimetidine) has many drug-drug interactions that Zantac (ranitidine) does not. I would feel okay with suggesting Pepcid (famotidine) in place of Zantac (ranitidine)

The lesser line is if someone gets cancer, let alone dies from it …there will never be a fashion to attribute information technology to Ranitidine.

I take taken this drug for vii years every twenty-four hours im 34 at present i have this to bargain with.

Accept into consideration all the good meds they take brought along. H2 blockers saved my life from a devastating grade c esophagitis that severely constricted my esophagus twice in my life. Every item you ingest, especially medicines, come with a certain amount of adventure, specially over the long term as they learn more and more about each of them, how they collaborate with certain people with certain medical conditions, and with other medicines. Non making any excuses for anybody, but allow'southward not tear down the whole manufacture due to something no one, including the FDA, has any specific proof of yet. In every situation, apply your God-given critical thinking skills and evaluate what's right for your detail circumstance(s).

Proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole has been proven through many studies that it has a high take a chance of cancer over years of usage……..nobody is talking about it…
Even with loftier level NDMA contaminated drugs like valsartan studies have shown that it is not linked to cancer….
Why are we making low levels NDMA in Ranitidine an unnecessary consequence….

Sharon Wiggins

Why is Valisure saying "alarmingly high levels of NDMA found" & FDA is saying "very small amounts of NDMA establish."

Someone has a new medication to come out on the market place cheaper to industry…. Unlike patent that they can squeeze for maximum turn a profit

Donald Kelman MD

Having used ranitidine 150 QD for decades (since earlier the patents ran out), & realizing that higher-priced non-generics still nether patents produce college profits all down the line, my cynical nature raises some questions. Are all the generics going to disappear, leaving only patented, newer drugs, bachelor, even though ranitidine has been tested by millions of the ultimate lab rats, (us), with remarkably few issues attributed. Also, practice all batches accept NDMA, or but some, and exercise all manufacturers have the consequence, or just some. Who raised the issue start — FDA or a pharma company? If pharma, do they have a more than lucrative new &/or patented "heartburn drug".
("-codone" drug issues history justifies such suspicions, since they are associated with thousands of deaths, yet are still abundant on the market). It was obvious (every bit a neurosurgeon) that they were highly addictive early, nonetheless "pain control equally a vital sign" became an accreditation outcome for hospitals, and ensured lax controls and pressure level to up the hurting meds on demand. Much more could be said but gets off the current topic.
Why this fearfulness-driven data-deficient action, causing withdrawal from the market place without whatsoever man cases constitute, stoking fear for patients, while lethal drugs are notwithstanding tolerated on the marketplace en masse?

PPI's proven to crusade osteoporosis.

FDA habitually allows products containing toxins to line drug store isles.
Look up PPD.
Judicious to assume if info about Ranitidine leaked through claiming minor risk- nosotros must assume major gamble

Because Pharm's not trustworthy & reliable peer-reviewed double-blind meta-studies are unavailable.
Does that answer your question?
A no-brainer.

You know, the acid reflux I get and take this medication for can cause esophageal cancer if acid keeps called-for it. So what can we do?

September 30, 2019

I have been taking zantac/generic equal in 300 mg dose forcefulness nightly for the past 30+ years along with opermazol 80 mg in the AM. This has been regiment that has kept me in cheque from my tummy & esophageal bleeding uclers. Then now they make up one's mind that there is a component in the zantac/ generic that may cause cancer.
Information technology has taken them long enough to publish information. So if all things being equal, dose this follow that this will follow like the babe talchum pulverisation cover upward police suites against these drug articles as well.

Elementary. This will continue to happen with all drugs, OTC & Rx. Why? Our drugs are beingness manufactured in Republic of india & China. Why? It's inexpensive for Big Pharma . Who is getting rich? Pharma companies!! Expect on your Rx paperwork from your pharmacy. Call Congressman, esp the Business firm and yell- bring the drug labs back to the U.s.

My doctors prescribed ranitidine for me years ago.
I have a lot of stomach bug. I also accept other health problems.
I felt more and more ill, but doctors told me NOT to stop taking it because my body isn't able to do what it's supposed to, on it'southward own any more than, BECAUSE of taking it for then long.
I was never warned that information technology could happen, .. just told to continue taking information technology.

At one betoken I ran out and wasn't able to refill the prescription for virtually 4 days.
I honestly felt a piffling better off of it than when I took it, although my stomach acid came back.
I told the doctor, just was told to go on taking it.
Now, later reading most other countries banning it, .. I'm honestly wondering almost ever taking it over again !

this is only crazy I take been taking this stuff for 20 yrs and I have tried all the others and they just don't piece of work. Now what am I going to do??

I feel exactly the same way. I have been taken for 20 years and am getting worried. My own opinion is the competitors just dont like how well information technology worked so they figured out a way to get it off the market by creating a cloud of suspicions about i. They shouldnt be taking it off the market. And they can spare me the b.s. most information technology not beingness off the market. If pharmacies dont sell it that is the same every bit it existence taken off the market.

I switched to famotidine which is some other H2 blocker. I haven't heard that in that location are whatsoever problems with contamination with this medication. It is over the counter.

If you lot're taking ii-3 a day it's probably time to encounter your Md and become a Rx for something improve that will last for 12 or 24 hours. Simply go non-Zantac and y'all won't take to worry. Y'all can get Rxs really cheap with programs similar "Good rx". I hateful pennies on the dollar! And no Insurance! Check it out. Y'all might go to the other class like prilosec and nexium which are PPIs. Proton pump inhibitors. I prefer the H2 histamine blockers like Zantac. Merely I merely use information technology occasionally 0-iii times a week. I am not a Doctor. This is merely personal experience.

Does Zandoz Omeprazole twenty also accept wellness risks? I have beeb using information technology for years. Although I had a lap nissan.

I was taking prescription Ranitidine and now my doctor has prescribed prescription Pepcid – called Famotidine. Depending on your insurance, it may exist a little more expensive than Ranitidine. Hope this helps you.

Allow me know if you discover out!

I could accept written your comment! I've been taking the generic from Walmart for YEARS!!!

You tin accept 1 tsp. baking soda in most 4-8 oz. of water.
Baking Soda has been an old timers go to for many, many years. Exist advised though that information technology tastes horrible, so have a glass of water to chase it down right after ingesting it. There are many people who will tell yous that information technology'due south bad for you lot to accept to much, then limit your intake.

There'southward a book entitled The Lost Ways 2 that will cost you $37.00 if you can afford it.
BTW Greenish Tea has Cancer Blocking properties.

I'm in the same boat – I've been taking it everyday for years for GERD. It's the only matter that really worked. Now I'm worried and demand to figure out something that works…the chew-able antacids don't work as adept for me.

Aye Marsha I too am panicking at the moment I've been taking Zantac for virtually 20 years 2 times a day for severe acid reflux none of the other medications worked but my doctor told me to switch to Pepcid I don't trust any of these people anymore

Relax tinker bong…..not even proven to be cancerous in humans…..

Consume radishes for your heartburn/Gerd it helps, very effective

I am right with you I would take 3 150mg iii x a 24-hour interval I have gerd really bad from surgeries in my throat. I'm going crazy right now trying to get into a doctor to observe out what to exercise

I take 300 up to twice a day. I am not worried about it.

I been taking ranidine from Walmart for almost 14 yrs at present , 2 to 4 tablets daily , and so what do I do now ? Am I at risk for some kind of cancer , someone permit me know if I am supposed to go with a doctor or lawyer to run into if fourteen yrs of taking this stuff has had its toll on me or not

I hold with you Marsha I have been buying mine from Walmart for years, a few years ago I read it was not skilful to take Previced or Prilosec but Zantac was a better option now I hear this
everything seems to be bad now ,the medicine ,nutrient, air, water. Like yous said at present what ??

I have been taking 150mg of ranitidine every day for a picayune over a year as it helps me with my gallbladder problems. Kinda scared to stop taking information technology as if I miss one dose I get nauseated and feel like crap that for a few days until I get back on rails and I'm terrified to finish taking information technology. Has anyone used information technology for similar reason? I don't desire to get gallbladder removed as doctors think that is reason why I experience nauseated just I don't have gallstones. Hida scan says 92% effective. I need the zantac!

Since information technology has been identified it volition exist removed. You can get back
to taking it soon.

The preservatives in our food can cause cancer too. Also, the insecticides they spray on our food and chemicals in our h2o supply… Not treating acid reflux increases your risk of cancer too.

Jay Barone MD

September 30, 2019

You will exist able to have it once again, They will go new manufactures
and it volition be monitored for NMDA.

Try ginger. I have found ginger to exist a expert natural heartburn remedy. Try to detect candied ginger or ginger paste in a tube.

I have been on 2 zantac 150 for more than than 10 years now. The dr started me on 3 a day nix else works for my acid reflux!

September 30, 2019

Information technology would be useful to know what to equate this risk to. For example, acrylamide produced past frying carbs (chips, French fries etc) in oil is also carcinogenic only no one is talking about closing down McDonalds.

I agree. This is the information people need to make a proper decision. If you took no chances on anything y'all wouldn't leave the house because you could be knocked downwardly.

October 2, 2019

Lord I been taking tis for a couple of years but I think I will stop taking this medication .

Zantac has been my go to med for 15 years. I overspice, over drink , and over coffee. Realizing Zantac is there!
But now Zantac won't be in that location. Sounds like back to alka seltzer or baking soda or lifestyle alter.
Distressing.

So how about Rx liquid Ranitidine given to children? Is the carcinogen constitute simply in tablet form?

September 30, 2019

I'm wondering this exact same thing as my x week old son takes it. Currently squirreling the internet in hopes of finding additional information.

I would likewise like to know virtually this.. my four month quondam has been taking it for months to assistance his reflux

Judith Bernz

October 4, 2019

In all forms. Read all info on spider web.
Canada & France accept recalled ALL FORMS OF RANATIDINE

What near the many women who took this drug during their pregnancies? How volition we know how this affected our unborn babies? How do we keep runway of developments ?

Hayley

September xxx, 2019

Currently six months pregnant and have 2 tablets twice a twenty-four hour period! Freaking out.

I am wondering the same thing. I took Zantac regularly while I was pregnant with my son and he now is taking it at five months erstwhile.

Alicia Kelley

October four, 2019

Yeah, I desire to know also! I took a lot of it while significant and and so they prescribed it to my baby for the first 8months of his life. I'm so scared!

What is considered to exist a loftier dose and over what period of fourth dimension ?

Mary Alyce Benner

September 30, 2019

I have been taking ranitidine for many years. I have been diagnosed with lymphoma. Is lymphoma a cancer that can occur by taking ranitidine I'm very worried equally none of my Drs have told me nigh this.

Is NDMA in the liquid, prescription course of Ranitadine or just pill form?

Jay Barone

September 30, 2019

It has been found in the OTC dose of 75 mg and 150 mg.
Tablets. No discussion on the liquid.

Gerard Gillan

September 29, 2019

Zantac has been around ,for 2 generations Why just this month The Alarm?

Possibly because it can have a long fourth dimension for some issues to prove, that did not show during clinical trials. Hence, always exist sceptical of the great new wonder drug – it probably hasn't been tested properly or for long enough.

Kristina Holston

September 29, 2019

I have taken 600mg for 14 years. Never had heartburn my rheumatologist put me on it to protect stomach from RA drugs side furnishings……. this is unnerving!!! Just plant out in last month my kidney function tests were a scrap off. Dr said volition recheck in 3 months.

Obaid Ali

September 29, 2019

two.5 mg NDMA was found in 150 mg tablet of ranitidine which is 26000 times greater than the permissible limit, if taken one tablet per day. The typical recommended dose for peptic ulcer illness in adults is 150 mg twice daily for 4 – eight weeks followed by maintenance dose of 150 mg one time daily. In this style, 5 mg NDMA is consumed per day that is full 280 mg if used for viii weeks. It tin can achieve exposure of upwards to 1 Gm in a twelvemonth which is alarming. Studies published in peer review scientific literatures reveal the being of dangerous levels of NDMA in the urine of those who had taken Ranitidin.

MaryAnn DiBartolo

September xxx, 2019

I take been taking Zantac for over 20 yrs exercise i have to end taking it ?? I don't take information technology everyday maybe 3 times a week

Robert Kaus

October 7, 2019

Obaid, did you lot make that up? As far as I know, no one has published the amount of NDMA constitute. 2.5 mg seems unlikely. You'd be talking about x% decomposition specifically to this one impurity.

Also, we don't know what a dangerous level is for this molecule. It is very carcinogenic to mice and rats, only wasn't carcinogenic at all to monkeys (run across Berkeley'southward Carcinogenic Potency Project).

Mary lain

September 28, 2019

I have been on prescription ranitidine for 9 years 300 mg 4 x daily .thats a very large dose.

Beverly Miller

October i, 2019

Oh wow, I too am freaking out!!

Are you taking over the counter ??? The prescription stuff should exist fine this is affecting over the counter stuff that is what my pharmacy told me

"It is important to know that the NDMA in ranitidine products does not pose any immediate wellness risks. Neither the FDA nor Novartis/Sandoz or Apotex accept received any reports of agin events related to NDMA plant in ranitidine. Although classified as a probable carcinogen, NDMA may cause cancer only subsequently exposure to loftier doses over a long menstruation of fourth dimension. NDMA is one of the same impurities that was found in certain eye medications beginning last year and that resulted in the retrieve of many products."
Given the ubiquity of some carcinogens in the environment, PCBs, TCDD, organophosphates, ii,4-D, et al, why would anyone desire to risk orally ingesting fifty-fifty a fiddling flake of another? Has no one at Harvard ever heard of synergistic furnishings?
While I tin understand health care providers wanting patients to continue taking, for example, some types of "centre" medication, wouldn't you exist serving your patients all-time by working/lobbying, etc., to find a better source of medications? Or pushing for essential meds to be made in the United states AND have strict regulatory enforcement of manufacture of those medications?

Daphne

September 28, 2019

Exactly. And what is a "high dose" or a "long period of time" ?

Ellen Kurtti

September 30, 2019

I have been on the generic Zantac for 1 year at 300 mgs a 24-hour interval prescribed by my Dr'due south!!!!
I quit and went to Pepcid.
Fed up!!!

Dr Shilpa reddy

September 28, 2019

[nine/27, 3:29 PM] Shilpa reddy: NDMA in Ranitidine is at a very depression dose level equal to what is found in meat, salary, drinking water ,beer, dairy products etc …

1. There is no proof of NDMA causing cancer at the dosage levels it is consumed through drug use.
2. Some articles suggest that NDMA "may" crusade cancer in 1 in 8000 people who take medication for a continuous use !
three. Ofcourse, patient condom is virtually important, but it seems like the large guys are behind this stuff to bruise generic drug makers ( who manufacture other acidity drugs )
Just to analyze.. A few days of these drugs don't crusade harm. In fact they may relieve you from serious gastritis. Long term utilise.. As in months and years causes the lining of the tummy to wear off. This is a gamble for cancer.

Sharon Wiggins

September thirty, 2019

I take been on 300mgs a twenty-four hour period for 7 years for severe acid reflux. You're proverb my tummy lining has worn off by this and I am at risk for cancer?

If and so, how much of a adventure given amounts I have taken.

I took it then my tum lining and esophagus lining would not rear down and create esophageal cancer!

Most people take a prescribed drug for more than 'a few days', peculiarly this type of drug. A friend doesn't like drugs of any sort, and is on a highly restrictive (i.e. tiresome) nutrition to avert taking these drugs. It sounds as if she is right. Does long term use of things like bisodol also bear on the lining of the stomach, if you have gastritis (which is difficult to cure)? Is a deadening nutrition (like my friends – no spices, no booze etc) – the answer?

Linda Niemi

Oct 2, 2019

I accept been on ranitidine by prescription for yrs.150 Mg.once a twenty-four hour period. I'k stressed about this cancer matter but information technology works great.Should i stop taking it & what chances do i have of getting cancer? Should i worry? Please aid..
